The cup has ancient origins and is very often associated with religiosity: this aspect also influences its use with Trappist and Abbey beers. It is a glass with a wide foot, a not very long and sometimes massive stem, often decorated, with a wide mouth that suggests its use with beers with an important alcohol content and a complex profile as it favors the release of volatile aromatic components.

“The beer for celebrations. Big and bold, equipped with a close-to-magic inebriating capability, Amber Shock can be considered a sort of  seducing Russian roulette… The one that could make you lose your mind”.

More about this beer

Craft lager, rich in body, deep amber in color and crowned by a compact off white-brownish and lacing head.

Nose is deeply malty and completed by a scent of fresh blood orange peel. Mouthfeel is full, sugary, and boasting a fruity bouquet reminiscing of red apple, berries, ripe banana and again of blood orange.

The finish is dry and slightly toasted.

Pairings

Ideal setting: A beer for sharing and celebrating, to pair with hearty meals or, at least, with a generous snowfall.

Food: Perfect for sustaining the weight of slow-cooked dishes, such as venison stews, goulashes, brasatos, carbonnade flamande. Try it with blue cheeses, both “pure” or used as an ingredients, such as for instance in a gorgonzola - infused risotto. Also good with fruit-based desserts.
