By the Italian law, a beer is “craft” only if: it is not pasteurized nor microfiltered, and independent – that is, when produced by a brewery which does not depend on any other subject (especially macro/industrial breweries).
This is how our beer has always been, long before the legal definition was enforced: we have been advocating for real craft beer in Italy since 1996, and have thus been granted the Indipendente Artigianale certification for real, independent craft breweries.
